Going on Holiday to Eastern Europe

Over the last 20 years or so, the world really has opened up quite a lot. With the opening up of Eastern Europe and Asia, suddenly there is a lot more choice for your holiday when you are planning to go away. Eastern Europe in particular is proving very popular with tourists from all over the world. There is a lot of beautiful scenery as well as a lot of history on show here, and the prices attract a lot of holiday makers each year.

All of these areas are rich in history and offer a unique visiting experience to tourists from all over the world.

Slovakia

If you are looking for a cheap family holiday, then Slovakia is a good choice for you. There is a wide range of architecture and historical sites, as well as beautiful scenery on offer. You will also find that there is skiing during the winter months. Along with this, there is a wide range of activities that you can participate in whilst you are here. The capital city is Bratislava, and this is also the most popular destination for tourists as you get a lot of people spending a long weekend here. Flights to here are relatively cheap and so is the accommodation on offer. You will find a wide range of hotels, which cater to all budgets and you can easily choose which is best for you by doing a search on the internet. The weather does vary across the country, depending on whether you are in the lush green valleys, or up in the mountains.

Poland

Poland is another country with an ever growing tourism sector, which is flourishing especially since joining the European Union in 2004. There is a lot of natural beauty here, which attracts tourists as well as historical and architectural sites to see. From the beautiful Royal Palace at Wawel to the scenic Town Hall in Wroclaw, there are some spectacular buildings to see in this historic country. Of course, one of the most famous tourist attractions is the Auschwitz concentration camp, which gives you a glimpse at some of mankind’s darker times. Poland is so much more than the history of the Second World War which so many people visit it for. There is plenty of natural beauty on offer as well as warm and friendly people.

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is also a very popular destination with lots of budget airlines offering cheap flights to the capital city, Prague. Again, there is a lot of history on offer here as well as some majestic and awe inspiring buildings to look at. Prague is a popular stop for stag and hen parties with lots of people visiting for a long weekend. There is plenty of great food on offer as well as a lively nightlife scene, which should be able to cater for all tastes. There are a lot of other activities outside of Prague, such as skiing and hiking that are on offer. The biggest attraction to this beautiful country though is the price that you pay for the services and nightlife when compared to other European countries. You can have a whale of a time at a very reasonable price in the Czech Republic when you are on holiday.

Belarus

Belarus is fast becoming another tourist destination, which is increasing in popularity. The capital city of Minsk is easily accessible if you fly into the country. You can take a bus, taxi or even hire a car for the duration of your trip. There are a lot of museums and sights worth seeing in and around the city of Minsk, which will help you spend your time whilst you enjoy this wonderful and vibrant country. There is an abundance of shopping available from the local market to the designer shops in the bigger shopping malls. Food here is quite cheap and also very tasty. There is a wide range of places to eat, which offer both local and international cuisine at quite varied prices, so you should be able to find something to suit both your pallet and your wallet! There is a wide vibrant nightlife scene from picturesque cafes and bars to loud and noisy clubs. You will find everything that you need here to make sure you have a great time when you are on holiday.
